TOKYO International Foto Awards / Honorable Mention / Nude

I couldn't have asked for more. A year ago today I was somewhere in the middle of research and preparation for my Cognitive Bodies. I met some fantastic people who I enjoyed not only the experience but most importantly the quality time we spent together chatting, drinking and creating some of my visions. I am proud and thankful.

Berlin Foto Biennale

Last day Berliners to see my photographs

HEUTE IS DER LETZTE TAG. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY. The Berlin Foto Biennale comes to an end, and today it will be opened from 12 to 19 welcoming the last visitors of this unique visual endeavor. Thousands of visitors have enjoyed both the images of the Biennale and those of our guest, Steve McCurry. We thank all visitors for making this Biennale a unique event during the European Month of Photography. Selected images of the Biennale will itinerate next year to Hanoi, and a special competition will be done to select photographers to go to Vietnam (all expenses paid) and make images of the Heritage places and people of Vietnam. Today is the last day but actually not the end of this visual fest... it continues in Vietnam next year, and we encourage you to keep tuned for the competition that we will launch shortly to select those who will be invited to picture Vietnam and exhibit the results of their work.
Next week stills and videos of all exhibited images of the Biennale will be available here for download.

9th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards / Winner

It's been a beautiful few months since I finalized my most important photography project so far. It cumulates some enormous emotions that were expressed not with words but with my sitters' bodies.

531 women photographers from 50 countries have submitted for this year edition 9th Julia Margaret Cameron Award // Gala Awards ... and there is one winner in Nude and Figure category for a series of images... and it is my #CognitiveBodies series that features some awesome people I had that privilege to work with. Winning 9th Julia Margaret Cameron Award with Nude was Marta's entry to Berlin Photo Biennial 2016.

In this very touching moment I have to admit that production on that series ended up really hard time in my life and I am enormously happy seeing the light as the new series is beautifully appreciated by international professionals.

Other Awards for the series:
 PX3 Paris 2016 - Honorable Mention
MIFA / Moscow International Foto Awards - Honorable Mention in  Fine Art / Nude
Fine Art Photography Awards 2nd Nude

I am thankful and enormously proud.

Motherhood, Maternal and Art // Clipping the Church

As part of the project ‘Clipping the Church’ this event brings together artist Tereza Buskova, curator Roma Piotrowska and photographer Marta Kochanek to investigate the position of a woman-mother-artist and explore representations of the maternal, and different models of family and motherhood, in art.

The discussion was preceded by a premiere screening of the video Clipping the Church, a new work by Tereza Buskova, where she revives an almost extinct English tradition and adorns St Barnabas Church, Erdington with ornate baked bread and encircle it with 200 people.
